Public transport in Luxembourg has been free since 2020. A folding bike is the perfect match: train or bus into town, then a few minutes by bike to the office, without looking for a parking space.
Free public transport
Since 1 March 2020, buses, trams, trains and the funicular are free in Luxembourg, except first class on trains. Free travel stops at the border: for a trip to or from Belgium, France or Germany you need a ticket for the part abroad.

Your folding bike on train, bus and tram
On CFL trains your bike travels free in 2nd class, just like you; put it in the bike area and avoid rush hour. On buses a regular bike is hardly ever allowed, but a folded folding bike counts as luggage and stays with you. On the tram, fold it too and keep it with you. In stations you walk your bike.
Your employer
A bike your employer provides for your use is tax-free for you. Ask your employer whether they offer one. More from the Administration des contributions directes.

Looking after your STRIDA in Luxembourg
With no chain to oil and few moving parts, a STRIDA is easy to maintain yourself. Our manuals cover the usual jobs and nearly every part is in stock, older models included. Rather have a workshop do it? A good bike shop nearby can: have them contact us at info@strida.lu and we will support them with advice and parts.
A STRIDA needs little maintenance: no chain to oil and a belt that lasts a long time. And what does need doing, you can mostly do yourself: the wheels are mounted on one side only, so you change a tyre without taking the wheel out of the frame, and our manuals guide you step by step. Still stuck, or no time? Give us the name and e-mail address of a bike shop near you: we will introduce ourselves and help them with advice and parts.Put us in touch with your bike shop →
